Chorus Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 641 810 755, ASIC Authorised Credit Representative 527416) is a credit representative of Australian Finance Group Ltd (AFG, ACL 389087). We collect personal and financial information to assess your lending needs, match you with suitable lenders, and assist with your loan application.
- We collect contact details, financial position, employment information, and documents you provide.
- Your information is used to prepare and submit loan applications on your behalf.
- You can request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by contacting us.
What we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our mortgage broking service. This includes:
- Contact details, name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
- Financial information, income, employment details, assets, liabilities, and credit history.
- Documents you provide, payslips, tax returns, bank statements, and identification documents.
- Enquiry and usage data, details of your lending enquiry, how you interact with our website, and analytics data (such as pages visited and device type).
We collect this information directly from you (via our website, phone, or email), from lenders or credit reporting bodies as part of an application, or from AFG’s systems.
Why we collect it
- To assess your lending needs and identify suitable loan options from our lender panel.
- To prepare and submit loan applications to lenders on your behalf.
- To communicate with you about your enquiry, application, or existing loan.
- To comply with our obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) and associated regulations.
- To improve our website and services using aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data.
We do not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to providing our service without your consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Lenders on our AFG panel, to assess and process your application.
- AFG (our aggregator, ACL 389087), to support application lodgement and compliance obligations.
- Credit reporting bodies, where required or permitted to assess credit eligibility.
- Valuers, conveyancers, and other third parties directly involved in your application, where you have authorised us to do so.
- Technology and service providers (such as cloud storage, CRM, and communications tools) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Where we share your information with overseas recipients (for example, cloud infrastructure providers), we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle it in a way consistent with the APPs.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes encrypted storage, access controls, and secure transmission protocols. If we no longer need your personal information and we are not required by law to retain it, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Credit reporting information
As part of the lending process, we and the lenders we work with may obtain credit reports about you from credit reporting bodies such as Equifax, Experian, or illion. We handle credit reporting information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code. You can request a copy of your credit report directly from those bodies.
Our website and cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to measure traffic, improve performance, and understand how visitors use our pages. We use Google Analytics and may use other third-party tools. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site functions may not work as expected if you do.
