Who we are
Chorus Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 641 810 755) is an authorised credit representative (ASIC number 527416) of Australian Finance Group Ltd (AFG), which holds Australian Credit Licence (ACL) 389087. We provide mortgage broking and finance services to borrowers across Brisbane and Queensland.
When we provide credit assistance we act on your behalf, not on behalf of any lender. Our role is to help you find a loan that suits your needs from the lenders on our panel.
The lenders on our panel
We access lenders through AFG’s aggregation panel, which includes more than 40 banks, non-bank lenders, and specialist credit providers. The full list of lenders on the AFG panel is available at afgonline.com.au. We do not have access to every lender in the market, and we will tell you if we believe a lender outside our panel may be more suitable for your situation.
How we are paid
In most cases the lender pays us a commission when your loan settles. We do not charge you a fee for our standard broking service. You have the right to ask us for details of commissions or other benefits we may receive, and we will give you that information in writing before you proceed.
- Upfront commission: a percentage of the loan amount paid by the lender at settlement.
- Trail commission: a smaller ongoing percentage paid by the lender while your loan remains active.
- Referral arrangements: where we refer you to a third party (such as a conveyancer or financial planner), we will disclose any referral fee before the referral.
Commission amounts vary by lender and product. Receiving a commission does not change our obligation to recommend a loan that is not unsuitable for you.
AFG Credit Guide
Because we operate as a credit representative of AFG, AFG’s Credit Guide also applies to our credit assistance. The AFG Credit Guide sets out AFG’s licence details, its panel of lenders, and the commission model in more detail.
